She also secured the federal authorization for the new air traffic control tower that is coming to TPA to keep the traveling public safe.

Over the past four years alone, Kathy secured more than $63 million to expand Port Tampa Bay - creating jobs, strengthening the local economy, and helping businesses move more goods through Florida's largest port. She also helped secure a $420 million federal authorization to deepen the shipping channel so larger cargo ships can bring more business to Tampa Bay.

Major projects include improvements to I-4 and the Selmon Expressway, the Big Bend Road/I-75 interchange, the Cross-Bay Ferry, Tampa's Riverwalk, McKay Bay, and Safe Streets projects throughout Hillsborough and Pinellas counties.

Kathy has secured more than $76 million to build and preserve affordable housing in Tampa. This funding helps more families, seniors, and workers find safe, quality homes they can afford while lowering housing costs and increasing housing availability.
Major investments include the redevelopment of Encore (formerly Central Park Village), Robles Park Village, and affordable senior housing at the Ed White Campus.

Kathy is proud to represent MacDill Air Force Base, which hosts two unified combatant commands, two air refueling wings, and 33 mission partners.
Along with championing funding for service member and civilian pay raises and improved military housing, Kathy has secured millions of dollars to expand the Tinker PreK-8 school on base and construct a Joint Special Operations University to educate our nation’s special operators.
She has also secured MacDill as the main operating base for 24 new KC-46 tankers, cementing the air mobility mission at MacDill for decades to come.
